MISSIONS REPORT 2004 – FEEDING & CLOTHING PROGRAMME

In Ajegunle, a big multi ethnic, shanty town in Lagos Nigeria notorious for its mass poverty, huge unemployment, slum housing, bad roads and high crime. In the midst of the slum, poverty, crime and social vices like drug dealing and street fighting we found precious beautiful babies and children full of life despite their living conditions. For many young people in Ajegunle, life can be very tough. Some of these children and young adults become vulnerable to crime, violence, prostitution and abuse. Next day, the team went to Agboyi village situated in Ketu, Lagos. Result: Praise Party with 400 children in attendance – 500 gift boxes distributed.

MISSIONS REPORT 2005 – FEEDING & CLOTHING PROGRAMME

We staged a street party in the poorest part of Ajegunle for children and street kids. 300 children attended. Organised Morning Tea at Burundi Island - An area known as "No Man's Island" in Ajegunle where at least 120 drug addicts, armed robbers, criminals and all sorts gathered openly to smoke hard drugs and get high. Our contact, a young man called Sonny was once part of them but is now a born again evangelist boldly proclaiming Jesus is Lord. Together, we are making a difference and we shall see many more "Sonnys" delivered from the devils' dark world into the kingdom of God. Result: 800 gift boxes distributed.

MISSIONS REPORT 2006 – PRISON VISITS & FEEDING PROGRAMME

We gained access into one of the most appalling prison centres in Nigeria (Kirikiri Medium Prison). The Prison System in Nigeria and the treatment of inmates is very harsh and living conditions are very poor. The festive season, such as Easter and Christmas, is often a very difficult and lonely time for prisoners as some are never visited by family members leading to suicidal attempts and violence erupting from anger and frustration. We were privileged to have access to about 2000 prisoners. An end of year Christmas party was organised, they were all fed and we had the opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. The message of the good news was reinforced, penetrating hearts, changing lives, washing away sins and bringing life to the darkest area of people’s lives. Twenty six (26) inmates responded to the call to make Him their Lord and Saviour. Result: Feeding programme of 2000 inmates.

MISSIONS REPORT 2007 – BIBLE DISTRIBUTION & MEDICAL AID

Our mandate is to advance the gospel, go into all nations through the effective placement and mass distribution of the Holy Scriptures. At the beginning of the year, we receive a request for a total of 800 bibles from hotels in a major business destination. Result: 300 bibles were given to 12 hotels. The second phase of the distribution programme will take place in 2008.

Medical Aid – As the year came to an end, we were faced with a real challenge. A 1year old girl called ALERO was dumped at the Orphanage centre of the Nigerian Red Cross. Upon health examination, it was discovered she had a hole in her heart which required urgent surgery. Thanks to our generous donors, we contributed a significant amount towards the N2million needed for the surgical operation.
